How To Use A Disc Plough?

What type of Disc Plough?

Disc Ploughcan generally be divided into several types based on their structure and function:

Light disk plough: suitable for small farms or gardening purposes, generally light and easy to operate.

Medium disk plough: Typically used on medium-sized farms, it is stronger than the light disc plow and can handle larger areas of land.

Heavy-duty disk plough: Mainly used in large farms and vast cultivated land, it has stronger soil breaking and rake capabilities, and is suitable for handling heavier soil and vegetation.

Parabolic disk plough: This type of disc plow uses a series of discs arranged in a curve to better handle uneven terrain and areas with rich vegetation, providing a more even rake.

Eccentric disk plough: The installation axis of the disc is not parallel to the driving direction. This design can reduce vibration and energy loss and is suitable for long-term operations.

Each type of disk plough has its specific advantages and disadvantages, and choosing the right type depends on factors such as soil type, terrain conditions, scale of cultivation, and agricultural crops.

How to use a disc plow?

1. Preparation:

Make sure the disc plow is in good working order, checking that the cutterhead and other parts are intact.

Make sure the plowshare is firmly connected to the tractor and check that the connecting parts are secure.

2. Adjust the depth:

Adjust the working depth of the disc plow according to the type of soil and work requirements. This can usually be accomplished by adjusting the depth control lever on the tractor.

3. Adjust the working angle:

The working angle of the disc plow can be set by adjusting the angle of the plowshare. The choice of angle depends on the shape and depth of the furrow you wish to plow.

4. Start rotary tillage:

Start the tractor and drive it slowly so that the disc plow can work properly. Keeping the movement moving at an even pace will help maintain the consistency and depth of the furrow.

The disc plow's cutterhead rotates and plows into the soil, loosening the soil and turning the surface to help prepare it for planting or improve the soil's texture.

5. Pay attention to safety:

Use extreme caution when using a disc plow to ensure safe operation, especially if you need to change direction or stop.

Avoid operating near vegetation or other obstacles to prevent damage to the plow or other equipment.

6. End the operation:

After you have finished rotary tilling, turn off the power to the tractor and make sure the plowshares have stopped rotating.

Check the condition of the disc plow and tractor, and perform cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation the next time they are used.

How to maintain the disk plow after use?

1. Cleaning and lubrication:

Be sure to clean the disk plow after each use, especially after use in wet or muddy conditions. Cleaning prevents the accumulation of soil and residues and helps reduce corrosion.

Regularly lubricate the various moving parts of the disk plow, such as bearings, hinges, etc. Use appropriate lubricating oil or grease to ensure smooth running of components and reduce wear and friction.

2. Check and adjust:

Regularly check the various parts of the disk plow, especially the cutter head, bracket, pin, etc., for damage or serious wear.

Adjust the Angle and height of the cutter to ensure it is suitable for the current tillage depth and soil type.

3. Prevent corrosion:

If the disk plow is not used for the time being, it is best to store it in a dry and ventilated place to avoid exposure to rain or moisture to prevent rust in metal parts.

4. Replace worn parts:

Check the wear degree of cutters and other vulnerable parts regularly, and replace them in time when necessary to avoid excessive wear affecting the farming effect and machine life.

5. Stay tuned:

Ensure that the disk plow is well adjusted, including the adjustment of working depth, driving speed and other parameters. Proper tuning helps to improve farming efficiency and reduce machine wear.

6. Regular maintenance:

It is best to plan for regular maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, inspection and necessary repairs. This ensures that the disk plow remains in efficient operation throughout the farming season.

To sum up, the maintenance and maintenance of the disk plow is a key step to ensure its long-term use and efficient work. Regular maintenance can reduce unexpected breakdowns and repair costs, while extending the service life of the machine.
